A SATISFIED MIND How many times have You heard someone say If I had his money I could do things my way But little they know And it’s so hard to find One rich man in ten With a satisfied mind Once I was waiting In fortune and fame Everything that I dreamed of To get a start in live’s game But suddenly it happened I lost every dime But I’m richer by far With a satisfied mind Money can’t buy back Your youth when it’s old Or a friend when you lonesome Or a love that’s grown cold The wealthiest person Is a pauper at times Compared to the man With a satisfied mind When life is over My time has run out My friends and my loved ones I’ll leave there’s no doubt But there’s one thing’s for certain When it comes my time I’ll leave this old world With a satisfied mind How many times have You heard someone say |

On November 9th 1999, just three songs after "HALLELUJAH I'M READY TO GO", Bob treated a lucky Philadelphia audience to the first ever live performance of "A SATISFIED MIND", the opening song of his 1980 album "Saved". The song was delivered brilliantly, picking up the "ready to go" theme with the fitting last verse. In November 2014 another version recorded by Bob Dylan in 1967 was officially released, as Track 3 on Disc 5 of "The Bootleg Series Vol. 11 The Basement Tapes Complete (Deluxe edition)". video - A Satisfied Mind - Philadelphia 1999-11-09 Biblical references: ~ Romans 8 ~ To set the mind on the Spirit is life and peace. ~ Romans 12 ~ Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. |
