The first live performance of "IF YOU EVER GO TO HOUSTON" was in Dublin, Ireland, on May 5th 2009, and the second performance only one day later, also in Dublin. I was glad to be a part of both audiences witnessing these first two stage appearances of any song from "Together Through Life". Eleven times it was performed during the 2009 summer tour, and during the fall tour of 2009 "IF YOU EVER GO TO HOUSTON" appeared another eight times. The first performance of "IF YOU EVER GO TO HOUSTON" in 2010 was in March, in Tokyo, Japan; and the next one was almost three months later, in Dornbirn, Austria. In the US the only appearances in 2010 of "IF YOU EVER GO TO HOUSTON" were in the fall, when it was performed during three consecutive shows at the end of October. In April 2011 Dylan chose to perform "IF YOU EVER GO TO HOUSTON" during his second show in Hong Kong; and in the summer of 2011 it appeared five times in the US.
